Agile competency development

An agile transformation is a large mouthful for most organizations. One of the fundamental steppingstones for being able to adapt and achieve the desired goals with an agile transformation – be it small or large in size – is competency development on all levels.  

A transformation has only reached its’ goal, when the new forms of collaboration have been applied within the organization. Participation in a course does not necessarily ensure that one applies the framework or theory. At Peak we believe that theory must be learned, acknowledged, simplified and modified – and the first application must be supported via colleagues with great experience, in order for it to bring value and experientially affect the application. In this way, one can rightly claim that it has been applied. When we work with agile competency development among people, our priority is therefore always to secure a tailored language of collaboration, that takes its’ starting point in the employees, in what works, and that is just formalized enough, to be able to present the necessary framework for a healthy collaboration.

Our approach

When we have to advise organizations on agile competency development, we employ the Ready, Sync, Go process, which ensures, that you get off to a good start:  

Ready – identification of needs 

We identify needs and frame conditions. We map, align and present the agile elements that are relevant to you in a roadmap covering the further course. We establish learning goals in collaboration with you and implement relevant course programmes. 

Sync – New forms of collaboration 

We concretize and specify, how you can apply the new roles, frameworks and competencies together. We tidy up in the areas where old or new does not bring value or energy.  

Go – Behaviour and change 

Changing your working method is demanding. Therefore, we help and support you through the initial changes on both employee- and organizational level.

Over later years things have been moving fast in the shift to agile methods. For the third year in a row, we at Peak Consulting have chosen to take the temperature of the progress Danish businesses have made with agile transformation across the private and public sector. Aside from gaining a better understanding of the current situation within different lines of business, the goal was to create new knowledge and reflections which can inspire our customers in the work with their execution capabilities.
